Before I get into a little story about your favorite couple I’ll recap our week! This week we stayed home on Brittany’s days off and got to watch the debate, that was interesting, and the VMAs! We finished our puzzle while watching the debate and Darcy even helped us take it apart at the end!

The other night Brittany, who is a huge Taylor Swift fan, asked me who I think my Taylor Swift is and I realized that it’s Andrew McMahon and his music (Something Corporate, Jack’s Mannequin, and Andrew McMahon In the Wilderness). I’ve had the pleasure of listening to his music for almost 20 years! The earliest memories I have of his music were riding shotgun, in my sister’s Volkswagen Rabbit, while driving to work at the Christmas tree farm and he’s stuck with me since. I’ve been to 7 different shows in the past 6 years and they are all different in one way or another and every show he treats his audience like they’re family.
Here’s the gross romantic part of the story where love comes in so if you don’t want to read that stop here! When Brittany and I started talking she saw that I had a tattoo of Jack’s Mannequin lyrics and that was one of the first things that made me think “wow she’s really cool”. When we were early in our dating she took a trip to Florida, to visit her parents, and we were able to FaceTime while watching a livestream of Jack’s Mannequin playing their whole Everything in Transit album which is such a cool memory. I got to see him in California to support To Write Love on Her Arms in the most personal venue I’ve ever been to (I sat maybe 10 ft from him). We saw Something Corporate at the When We Were Young festival but none of these memories are as good as finally being able to see an entire set of his, with the lights and audience conversations, with my bride! The look on her face when he took the stage and started playing some of our favorite songs is something that I’ll never forget. It was a last minute decision and I’m so glad that we decided to go that night! Anyway that’s one of my favorite things about her! When you get to see her excited in that way, and her eyes light up, it makes my heart happy! She’s forever my concert partner and I’m glad that she’s my Punk Rock Princess and Konstantine. Thanks for reading! Here’s a bunch of pictures I’ve taken of shows through the years in no particular order because I still don’t know how to get them to upload in order.
