It’s been a wild month for us here. Between Brittany only having one night off at a time, Aria having been sick (she’s much better now) and my finals we’ve been crazy. We had a cold front come through, dropping below freezing again, and super windy days where we had to bring the slides in because the wind was bouncing us around. Thursday we finally got go for a date day since it was a calm day and Aria is doing so well! We went to the Missouri History Museum, which was great, the Saint Louis Art Museum, and finished it with dinner at the Gin Room and drinks at a speakeasy near by. It was a great day!
Friday we brought the slides in again because it was supposed to be gusts of up to 50 mph. Around 4 in the afternoon there was a tornado watch placed on our area until 11 at night. I drove Brittany to work and watched for the possibility of a tornado. Around 730 I started calling hotels to find somewhere I could take all 5 of our kids if I needed to get out of the RV quick but everything was still looking clear. 8 rolls around and the storms, and possible tornadoes, shifted towards us so I packed up the kids, threw them in the car, and drove south since it was looking g horrible to the north. As I get to the hotel the storms shift more and now the possibility of a tornado had moved to the town I’d just showed up in! After getting pelted with ping-pong ball to tennis ball sized hail, while covering Zoey and parking the car, I finally made it into the ballroom (no windows) of the hotel and tucked into the back corner with the family. Luckily Brittany stepped into the break room to talk me through everything and keep my head level the whole time. One tornado on the outskirts of the town I was in. We sat in that corner for 3-4 hours and then finally went back to the RV and were very excited to see that there was no damage and it’s still standing. It was a pretty wild Friday night for us!! The kids did great sleeping in their carriers in that room and everybody was very excited to see hairless cats in real life. Now back to the grind!
